There are a lot of African Centered schools. I am a product of two such schools, Ivy Leaf in Philadelphia, and Nairobi Day School in East Palo Alto. I also taught at Shule Mandela, another Afrocentric school. I've been Black my whole life, and I come from a family that has always been very serious about our culture and heritage, so yes, I've read Native Son. You should check out Ayi Kwei Armah's "The Healers" and "Two Thousand Seasons". Armah is my favorite author. Laura Esquivel is great too (the Law of Love) Yes, we're on the same side. Peace! Yup.
